30 April: St Mary's College win Sanix Tournament

In a little over a year, Wellington's St Mary's College have gone from winning their first tourament in Palmerston North, to winning the Condor 7s in Auckland and now to winning the World Sanix 7s tournament in Japan. Read/decipher their results here

29 April:

The New Zealand U20s opened their Under 20 Oceania Tournament on the Gold Coast with a comfortable 63-3 win over the Fijian U20s on Friday evening. In windy conditions, New Zealand outscored the Fijians 8 tries to nil, fullback Will Jordan crossing for a hat-trick and starting first five-eighth Tiaan Falcon kicking 19 points. Playing with the aid of the strong wind, New Zealand scored four tries and sailed to a 35-0 halftime lead. Read more here

27 April: Otago Schools competition starts

The Otago Schools First XV competition starts this coming weekend. Games are:  Taieri College v Waitaki BHS; Kings HS v St Kevin's College; Mt. Aspiring College v South Otago HS;Otago Boys HS v Kavanagh College; Dunstan High School v John McGlashan College.

In Auckland, there are two big 1A promotion/relegation battles: 1:00pm: Onehunga HS v Liston College;  2:40pm: Tamaki College v Otahuhu College. 

In Wellington, Wellington College plays Hastings Boys' High School (11.00am) and St Pat's Town play Dilworth College (1.00pm).

23 April: St Paul's First XV Festival underway

The first day of matches at the St. Paul's Collegiate First XV rugby festival have been completed with four fixtures, two at a time, contested in calm and overcast conditions this afternoon. There were wins for Sacred Heart College, Napier BHS, King's College and St Kentigern College. Read more here

20 April: Hasting Boys' High School starting well

Last year's beaten Top 4 finalists Hastings' Boys High School have started 2017 on a winning note,  Beating Auckland's Saint Kentigern College 15-5 on Thursday, their third win in the past eight days.
